My son got this from his grandparents for Christmas. It was my mother-in-laws when she was young. The bottom says it’s a 1962 Volkswagen Caravette, made by Matchbox (Lindsey). Pretty cool gift! I wouldn’t mind owning a life-size matching version…
He got some other vintage metal Beetles as well.
I saw on Big Blue’s Facebook page that a girl won a restored VW bus in a Hollister contest. Apparently she won the bus for having the best butt in America or something. She’s cute and all, but I wish I would have known about this contest, as I would have entered…and probably won. But the bus looks pretty sweet! I’m not sure about the wide whitewalls, but the color combo is nice.
